How to Trim Applique Fabric

We get asked quite often what is the best way to trim fabric for applique work. There are a couple of different approaches to this.
  1. Pre-cut shapes
  2. Cuticle Scissors

With pre-cut shapes, there is no trimming needed after the die-line has been stitched. You simply need to line up the pre-cut shape with the die-line and tack down with a bit of spray-on adhesive.

But more times than not, you will not have the ability to have pre-cut shapes readily available, in situations like these we find that curved cuticle scissors are extremely effective in providing sharp, accurate and curved blades to get as close to the fabric as possible for a clean close trim.
